On Monday night we joined two other families from church and went to the Utah Cultural Arts Center. It was a night of music and dance from Brazil. Both of the wives in the other families served their missions in Brazil. We took lots of blankets and spread out on the grass. It was so much fun! We have made some really good friends in our ward. There are so many young couples with babies that live on our street and the next street over. As you can see from the picture below that Zachary has made a friend too. That would be Jozie. She was born about two weeks after Zachary.
This was their second "date". Their first was a walk thru the neighborhood a few weeks back. They really get along so well. Jozie is always drooling all over Zachary. Who can blame her?! He is pretty dang cute! =)

A New Rule....
I think that there should be a new rule....once you become a mother you don't ever ever ever ever get sick. How many mothers would agree with me on that one? All in favor say YES!!!! Being sick, how should I say it.....TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Granted I am not a good sick person (my husband can attest to that), but goooodness being sick and trying to take care of a baby at the same time can be a hard thing. Joe's only comment to me is, "Welcome to Parenthood!" BLAH! He pulled the ol' switch-a-roo on me...I'm only allowed to use that comment on him. Unfortunately, the both of us have been sick for the last couple of days. The laundry is piled high, along with the dishes in the sink. I even think that our house sticks a bit. But maybe that is from being cooped up for a couple of days. As if being sick wasn't enough it has been well over a hundred degrees here for way too long. Who wants to have the flu in this kind of weather (or anykind of weather for that matter)? Told you I wasn't a good sick person.....

Cuteness!

Zachary has been smiling and cooing so much the last couple of weeks. It is the kind that just make your heart melt. I know that I am biased due to being his mother but you have to admit that this is one cute kid! Just look at him!!!!!!!! Anyhow, anytime that we try to get a picture of Zachary smiling he stops as soon as the camera is put in front of him. Maybe he is just distracted by the camera, who knows? Joe wanted to play with Zachary when he got home from work yesterday. So I thought that I would bust out the camera and try to sneak some pictures of him smiling. How do you like the result? We actually got his first laugh with the picture below. I cannot wait for him to giggle and laugh all of the time!

So I saw this book featured on the Today Show a few weeks back. In the segment this father was talking about how this book got his son outdoors more and away from the television and video games. So I bought the book as Joe's Father's Day gift. This is such an awesome book! I would definitely recommend it...especially if you have any boys. In this book it walks you through how to build a tree house, make a water bomb, make a go-cart, how to skip rocks on water, how to make a paper airplane. They are things to get your kids outdoors! Who really wants their kid sitting in front of a tv all of the time?! It also has chapters on pirates, the Declaration of Independance, cloud formations, fishing....the list goes on and on. I have found myself sneaking peeks at it. I know that as Zachary gets older he and Joe will find the many things that they can do together.

2 Months
Hard to believe that Zachary is two months old today! I'm sure that I will say that every month for the next year...."I can't believe he is this old". We were having some tummy time and as you can see he was so tired that he didn't last very long. The funniest part was that he kept trying to tuck his legs up which made his little toush get higher and higher in the air. Joe and I were commenting tonight about how often he is smiling now. So he is smiling more often and getting stronger everyday. He keeps his head up as often as he can. And most recently he has begun drooling like crazy! Could this be the start of the teething process??? Just this weekend we started putting him in his room at night. I think that I am having a little bit of separation anxiety over it. I like having him right next to our bed. But now is probably a good time for him to enjoy his cute bedroom (check out previous posts to see his totally awesome room!).
