My Favorite...

My favorite day of the year is Primary Program Sunday!!!!! Which was just this past Sunday...I love seeing all those little kids in all of their cuteness get up and sing (some more loudly than others) all of the songs that they have been learning during the year. Zachary sat and listened / watched (for the most part) the kids doing their parts. I loved it! Just a few more years and Zachary will be doing the same thing. =)

Thankful Thursday

1. I'm thankful for great neighbors! I've said before how much I love our neighborhood but I really love our neighbors...some of who have become great great friends. It reminds me of my parents neighborhood. Everybody knows everybody. It just like an extended family. Whenever I make it back home I always want to stop and make sure that I see the neighbors too.

2. I'm thankful for the changing seasons here in Utah. The leaves are changing colors. It is beautiful! I can't wait to drive up one of the canyons and see all of the different colors.

3. I'm thankful for discovering new places here in Utah. We went with some neighbors (thankful for them!) up to Memory Grove Park. I had no idea this place exsisted and it is right downtown. I've lived here for 3 years and never knew about it. We are going to go back soon to explore more.

Thankful Thursday

This cartoon reminds me of Zachary. He used to fold his arms and bow his head whenever we said prayer but now he just squeezes his eyes really tight but after a few seconds is looking around everywhere with is eyes half open. But I guess I wouldn't know that unless my eyes were half open looking at him.
I am thankful for prayer. I KNOW that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers because he has answered mine on more than one occasion. I KNOW that prayer not only brings my family closer to Him but closer to each other as well. I KNOW that Zachary is learning about prayer every day as we kneel together as a family. I KNOW that this is the perfect way to communicate my feelings of graditude and love to my Father in Heaven.
We recently had a Regional Conference at Church. This is where many many many congregations are given counsel from the leaders of our Church. Our Prophet and President Thomas S. Monson focused on a verse from the Doctrine and Convenants 88:119. It states, "Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God." I want that in my house. And I hope and pray that we are on our way to do all that is commanded in that verse. I am thankful to know that I can turn to Heavenly Father and ask for his assistance in making that happen. It is a work in progress but we are on our way....

Did I Make A Mistake?

Yesterday I took Zachary to get his haircut. I bought scissors about a month ago but Joe wouldn't help me. So I just decided to take him and get it done. His curls were out of control. He did really good. Of course he was distracted by the movie Cars so he didn't care what was going on. I wasn't sure about the haircut after we left but it is begining to grow on me. Then yesterday afternoon it was like the haircut gave him a new found confidence in being a little boy....he refused to have his shirt on. So he spent the rest of the afternoon in just his shorts. So what do you think of the haircut?

Fun at the Fair

We went to the Utah State Fair on Monday. We don't live very far from the fairgrounds and decided that it was a nice enough day to walk it. So we loaded Zachary in the wagon and off we went!
This was the typical position for him when checking out the animals.

Not too sure about the frozen lemonade.

Both Joe and I agree that the trip to the Fair was a total success just due to Zachary's reaction and facial expressions everytime he got close to an animal. I just wish I could have caught it on camera. And as you can see from my previous post he was pretty tuckered out by the time we left to walk home.

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for Zachary's Radio Flyer wagon. It would have been a VERY LONG (mile and a half) walk home from the Utah State Fair if he had to be carried.

The Need for Change

I've been thinking about changing the design of this blog for some time now. But I didn't want to have to deal with putting all of my links back on after they disappeared. But guess what...THEY DIDN'T DISAPPEAR!!!! WoOt WoOt! So I hope you like it and enjoy.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am most thankful for the Library!!!! I HEART the Library!!! I've got a list about 10 books deep waiting to show up that I have on hold. I've talked before about how I consider myself to be a bookworm...although not as much as other people that I know. But sometimes it can be hard to be bookworm-ish when you are a mom. But that is another reason I HEART the Library...I take Zachary quite often and he loves loves loves it! He is seriously attached to some of his books that we have at home. In fact the other day we sat in his room for over an hour reading/looking at books. Granted he is only 16 months (HOLY COW!) but I do let him pick out what he wants at the library. Sometimes we only come home with a couple of books but there are other times where we bring home about ten. His current favorite is anything to do with Clifford the Big Red Dog. The Library has saved me some serious amounts of cash-o-la. And has entertained my son for hours at a time. Have I mentioned that I HEART the Library?!

Zachary's Lucky Day

We went to the RSL soccer game on Friday night where they beat the Colorado Rapids 2-0. It really was a great game. Joe's seats are right behind the players and during half time there is always somthing being thrown to the fans: t-shirts, little soccer balls, candy, etc...you get the idea. I kept trying to get a little soccer ball for Zachary but they were being thrown right over my head. Well, the players were coming back onto the field after half time and some had slightly bigger soccer balls then were being thrown out earlier. One of the players, Javier Morales, threw one of those balls to me! Zachary was so happy

that he had is very own ball. We had to hide it under our blanket for fear that he would throw it onto the field. We gave it back to him in the car and he fell asleep hanging onto it. And then Saturday played with the ball all day. Needless to say, Joe is quite excited that Zachary loves his soccer ball so much. He dreams of Zachary becoming this world famous soccer player. I guess we will have to work on that one.
